Perspective is a short film that I directed and filmed to showcase how the Corona Virus global pandemic affected everyone differently. With some individuals and families, it caused them to stuggle greatly. Some had lost their jobs and weren't able to afford things such as rent or groceries after a few weeks. With others, relationships began to crumble after spending 24/7 together. However, there were some people who it didn't really affect such as some college students, like myself, who just had classes online and struggled with boredom and what tv show to watch on netflix. I wanted the message to show and teach people that if you look at life through a someone else's perspective, it most likely is vastly different than your own.
Perspective takes places in a apartment complex and shows the lives of two people living in different apartments. I portrayed the character that was struggling in a color grade that was desaturated to give off a feeling that they were struggling with things that are shown in the video. Things such as over due bills, lonliness, and fighting with their significant other were shown as their conflicts. However, The other character is portrayed in a normal to high saturated color grade to show happiness and liveliness that gives off a feeling that the character has no struggles and is living in the moment. They can be seen dancing around, doing classwork, laughing with friends on the phone, and having no worry in the world.
